This episode of the Chancellor’s Office California Community College Experience podcast series, host Interim Chancellor Daisy Gonzales, Ph.D. talks with Dr. Nellie Tran, a published Vietnamese American San Diego State University Professor, research scientist and higher education advocate who is passionate about empowering underserved student populations, especially students of color, to pursue higher education. The discussion centers on Dr Tran’s educational journey, the importance of addressing student’s mental health and the importance of cultural competency at community college campuses. Dr. Tran is an alumna of both San Diego Mesa College and San Diego Miramar College.
